š¤ YouTube Starts Building AI Tools for Creators

RunwayAI
In his first address, the new CEO of YouTube, Neal Mohan, made a promise to develop new AI tools for content creators in the coming months.
Why this matters: Hereās a small blurb from Leonard Steinbergās daily email to Compass agents⦠More data is created per hour today than in an entire year just 20 years ago, and global data is expected to double every 2 years. Weāre at a defining point, similar to the internet in the ā90s, where AI is reaching mass adoption and tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E, and new ones that companies like YouTube develop are allowing the everyday person to capitalize on all of the data being collected.
"If data is the new oil, then AI is the new electricity"
What he announced: Currently, this will look similar to RunwayAI, allowing creators to improve their production quality and expand their storytelling by being able to āvirtually swap outfitsā, and this capability would likely (my guess) allow you to add effects in a video to visualize what youāre talking about or swap the background.

RunwayAI
What we can expect: RunwayAI is an AI editing tool that currently allows you to use text to edit a video. You can not only generate images or effects similar to tools like DALL-E, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion but you can also remove or replace images in a scene.
Hereās a few things it can do:
Text to Image
Text to Color Grade
Paint Out Objects to Erase or Replace
Remove & Replace Backgrounds
Simple Motion Tracking
Add effects in a Video
Automatic Beat Detection to Snap Video to Music in 1 Click
Automatic Subtitles Image
Automatically Clean Audio
Remove Silence
Blur Background
And way more.
Text-to-edit is the ānew thingā in video editing. I can imagine YouTube will develop a similar tool, if they don't, then Adobe will.
The YouTube Creator Suite is only the beginning. Even if they launch with only a few features, they will continue building it out, and now that OpenAIās released open API for developers to build with ChatGTP and Whisper (speech-to-text), I could imagine YouTube building out AI features where they: auto⦠transcription, title description, chapter markings, idea generation for videos, editing (as mentioned above), and even possibly thumbnail creation.
The first company to master a tool like this will become the Canva ($25B) of video editing.

š Bing Canāt Compete With Google Yet, But Could TikTok?

I mentioned this in a previous issue where we talked about a recent survey finding that Google Search is less popular among younger consumers, with TikTok growing as a news source, shopping, and search engine.
But, TikTok is taking it 2 steps further by,
Testing new search ads combined with their recent update allowing 2,200 characters
Releasing a new lifestyle app, Lemon8. An app that feels like Instagram meets lifestyle & shopping but it feels like all adsā¦
The reason this matters is because of this one simple macro trendā¦

And if youāve watched how networks like Facebook, Instagram, Snap, YouTube, and TikTok grow & evolve, then you know that we (older generations) follow the younger generation.
So if social searching becomes popular, as weāre beginning to see with TikTok, then itās something worth paying attention to.
As a business owner, especially in real estate where local search matters, capitalizing on it is important for building a brand. Itās why YouTube & Google are some of the best platforms for agents. But now, could TikTok rival Google?

ā½ļø Attention is the New Oil: Mr. Beast vs Logan Paul

And to add fuel to the fire, Mr. Beast stole Logan Paul's editor (known as one of the best editors on YouTube).
Why this matters: The bane of social media is comparison. But in business, thereās countless factors, yet both Logan Paul and Mr. Beast could become the first YouTube billionaires. Theyāre just taking different paths.
But what can we learn from this? Patience long-term combined with the desire to win can beat speed.

š 3 lessons From Logan Paulās & Mr. Beastās Editor to Train Your Editor
High-performing YouTube videos must have:
Emotion: how should we feel?
Story: whatās the overall storyline?
Rhythm: what can we expect next?
Most people donāt think of storytelling in a YouTube video but itās the reason why top YouTubers get higher audience retention rates (more people watching the entire video), which then translates into more views, more subscribers, and more leads. Donāt believe me?
First, hereās a non-real estate example:

Now, can you guess how Ken Pozek went viral with his Golden Oaks video (Disneyās Most Expensive Neighborhood)?
If you watch this video, youāll notice from the beginning:
Hook - The first few seconds are cinematic with Disney music for context, and while heās prepping the office thereās a little mystery, but then it quickly pans to the beginning. Then he introduces the problem, he couldnāt tour the Golden Oak neighborhood because itās a private, exclusive community.
Story - The story builds as he explains the setting of the community, the exclusivity, and who the community is for. Then itās enhanced with sound, and video that help show what itās like to live in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in all of Orlando.
Cinematic feel - The B-Roll video helps show what heās talking about so itās not just him talking.
Music - Sound design can play a crucial role in engaging the viewer and it brings in emotions.
Rhythm - From fast to slow and changing scenes, it helps us stay engaged by having intentional variation throughout the video.
And heās brought that concept of storytelling, sound design, rhythm, and emotion to his 2 most recent videos:
So obsessing over creating the best video, like Logan & Mr. Beast, has not only brought Ken multi-million dollar clients, but it also landed him an interview with the mayor.
